For
many years we have seen increased divorce rates and increased death
rates related to people that are over-worked and over-stressed.
Here are some heart-numbing statistics: The divorce rate in America
for first marriage is 41%, for second marriage is 60%, for third
marriage is 73% Source:http://www.divorcerate.org/
On average, Americans do not use 4 days of paid vacation time per
year. Source: Dulce Zamora, webMD, Inc.
Numerous
studies show that not going on a vacation for a full week once a
year will increase the chances of heart attack by 34% in men and
almost 50% in women. It is becoming obvious that our work habits
are becoming detrimental to our well-being and our country as a
whole. People that are working more are spending less time with
their families, causing more tension at home. As a result, people
are experiencing more stress, more health problems, and reduced
productivity at work. It has become a vicious habit that contributes
to the unraveling of families, the economy, and our country.
Where
is the silver lining in this cloud? I believe that we have a unique
opportunity to spearhead a movement that fundamentally changes the
American way of life, re-focusing on the family to the benefit of
us all. Close your eyes for a moment and recall the best memories
of life with your loved ones. For most of us, the fondest memories
are of family vacations and the quality time we spent together.
Maybe it was a week on the beach with your children, building sand
castles and chasing waves. Maybe it was a relaxing cruise with family
and friends. Perhaps it was just you and your spouse on a long weekend
getaway to a romantic location.
Now think of those you know who have not gone on a vacation in the
last twelve months. It is almost certain that their level of happiness
is less and the stress experienced in their home and work is greater.
The
good news is that our company promotes family well-being by enabling
people to go on vacations which they could not otherwise afford.
Through our corporate benefits program (B2B), we are partnering
with companies throughout the United States to improve our families,
our economy, and our society. How can you help this movement and
become a transforming force for positive change? BELIEVE
in what is right for our families. Share this information with people
and businesses. Eyes will be opened, action will be taken, and we
will see the foundation of our country, the family, once again become
the strength of our nation.

"Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ,
if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness
and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love,
being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests
but each of you to the interests of the others." As quoted by Paul in Philippians 2:1
